ACAI BERRIES : FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. How do I use my Açaí and what is the recommended daily intake? 

Amazonia recommends a minimum of 3g (Heaped Teaspoon) of Dried Acai Powder each day, you can consume much larger quantities of this berry however it is up to the individual. The more the better however within one 3gram serve you get a lot of Antioxidants.
Add it to your daily juice, protein shake, Yoghurt, water, over porridge or eat it straight. It tastes great! Our favourite recipe is two heaped tablespoons of Amazonia Acai added to Mango juice. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! 
 

Q2. Can children enjoy Amazonia Acai?

A. Of course, Amazonia Dried Açaí is purely a BERRY. Amazonia Acai contains no stimulants and nothing Artificial. It is VERY VERY beneficial for children. We recommend you mix Açaí with there favourite juice… Delicious and Nutritious, a great taste the kids will love.

Q.3 Can I take Amazonia Acai with medicine?

A. Amazonia Dried Acai is purely fruit, high in Antioxidants and your essential oils. There is no reason we are aware of that this may affect your medication. If you are allowed to eat fruit or intake antioxidants on medication there is no reason for not taking Açaí.  If you have any doubts consult your doctor.

Q.4 Dried Acai ... What is the DRYING PROCESS Amazonia use?

A. Amazonia Acai sources direct from the Amazon. Our freezing facility in the Amazon is just a short distance from where our lovely Purpleberries are picked. So we guarantee our Dried Acai is the highest quality and freezed as soon as possible after harvesting in most cases with a few hours of being picked. The reason we freeze the Acai berries is because it is very rich in oils and antioxidants. Açaí goes rancid (off) within 24 hours after harvest, that’s why we FREEZE the Acai berries as soon as possible. We then FREEZE DRY them using a vacuum system by which all the berries are dried at approx NEGATIVE 40 Degrees Celsius. This means the berries are never heated during the drying process. Q.5 Why can’t I seem to find Açaí in its whole berry form (like Goji Berries)?

A. Açaí has a huge seed and only a small fleshy skin and pulp. Therefore, when you consume Açaí you are mainly consuming the skin of the Açaí berry and we all know that the skins of fruit are much more NUTRIENT DENSE then pulp. That’s one of the reasons Açaí is so nutrient dense. As explained above Açaí also needs to de-pulped and freezed shortly after harvest. Therefore is impossible to get the berry in its berry form. All Amazonia Aca however is still in the WHOLEFOOD form, however it is crushed during the de-pulping and freezing.

 A. We are 100% Australian owned and operated, with a presence in the Amazon.

 
Q.7 Is Açaí good for weight loss?

A. We have been getting a lot of positive feedback in relation to this. The Omega 3, 6, 9 are your good fats that are known to lower cholesterol. Also recently on the Oprah show Açaí featured for its weight loss benefits. Please note weight loss is still highly dependent on the rest of ones diet. Dried Açaí however can be very helpful in this respect.

Q8. Why does my Dried Acai vary in density and color? 

A. All our Amazonia’s Acai is “Wild Harvested”. This means our Acai is derived from naturally occurring Acai palms that flourish in the Amazon Rainforests natural environment. Because the berries are not propagated there will always be slight variance in color and density. By ensuring you get Amazonia Acai you know you are getting Organic berries that have grown naturally in the Amazons nutrient dense soil.
